About Malacca High School

The early roots of Malacca High School

Initiated by former Malacca High School (MHS) teacher, T. Rajendran, MAHSOPA started as an informal monthly gathering at the Majestic Hotel along Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, Kuala Lumpur connecting the many MHS Alumni living in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. The Association was officially registered as Persatuan Murid-Murid Tua Sekolah Tinggi Melaka, Wilayah Persekutuan dan Selangor (Registration No. 1907 Selangor) on October 29, 1976.

Its inaugural leadership team consisted of President Haji Mokhtar bin Daud, Secretary Lee Kim Seng, and Treasurer Lee Kwok Tong.
Successive leadership the Association saw several notable presidents.  Tun Abdullah Mohd Salleh was elected as the second President in 1977, followed by Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Arshad in 2007. Long serving Deputy President, Dr Leo Ann Mean succeeded as President in 2022 upon the passing of Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Arshad.
